Since our beginning in 1977, Shepherd of the Valley Care Center has had a commitment of caring that has guided our philosophy through the years. At Shepherd of the Valley Care Center, the quality of life our residents enjoy is as important to us as the quality of their care. Our service to our residents is based on a holistic approach to their needs. Shepherd of the Valley Care Center is a facility of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. All people are welcome regardless of race, creed, or medical needs. The purpose of Shepherd of the Valley Care Center is to care for its residents in a manner that nurtures their status, independence, dignity and worth as children of God. The resident's physical and emotional well-being is the primary concerns of all staff. The Resident Care Team, the resident and the family plan the resident's stay. Together they provide for the spiritual and emotional support through a combination of motivation, philosophy, expression, group dynamics and feedback. Special exercise benefits residents through music, laughter and motivation. Our employees know more than their jobs. They understand and appreciate the importance of a kind word, a gentle touch and the healing power of a smile.
